Willie Nelson and Steven Tyler Farm Aid Surprise. 2001 was the 25th anniversary concert of Farm Aid, the organization formed by Nelson, John Mellencamp, and Neil Young, dedicated to helping farmers survive the onslaught of factory farms, and to educate the public on the need for home grown, sustainable farms, and healthy food. As a surprise, during Willie’s set, the legendary Steven Tyler showed up to surprise Willie. Some photographers were notified to be ready, just minutes before Tyler walked onstage. Willie was completely taken offguard, as you can see in another photograph in this set, and about 2 seconds later, he’s all smiles as seen in the 2nd wall image, below.
